Fun With a Purpose

The Boy Scouts of America began Cub Scouts as a program for younger boys in 1930. The purpose of Cub Scouts is for parents, leaders, and the organization to work together to achieve find the good in every child and develop it.

On the advancement trail, a Cub Scout progresses towards a badge of rank based on their grade. As a Cub Scout advances through the ranks, the requirements get more challenging, to match the new skills and abilities they have learned. 

What Is Scouting?

Scouting America’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

 

Youth Protection

True youth protection can be achieved only through the focused commitment of everyone in Scouting. It is the mission of Youth Protection volunteers and professionals to work within Scouting America to maintain a culture of Youth Protection awareness and safety at the national, territory, area, council, district, and unit levels.

These booklets are a basic resource to help parents understand how child abuse happens and keep their children safe. Exercises for parents and children are included and are required of all participants.
