Pack Volunteer Day at Trusted World

For the second time, Pack 751 Richardson is invited to volunteer at Trusted World. This wonderful nonprofit provides the best resources, at no cost, to organizations and individuals working on someone else’s behalf (ie: a school principal or firefighter or CPS worker sees a family in need, contacts Trusted World, and arranges a donation of high-quality items to them).

We will likely be sorting and organizing clean, donated clothes again. Even young children (3 years old) can participate as the bins are labeled with pictures to aid in sorting. The Scouts and siblings had a blast last time!

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Our volunteer slot is booked from 10AM–noon on Saturday, Dec. 13 (arrive at 9:45AM). We’ll start with a short video and a quick tour of the facility so everyone can get familiar with what they do and the impact of our time.

HELPFUL REMINDERS:

• Please arrive 15 minutes early for check-in
• Class A uniforms are strongly encouraged and closed-toe shoes are required
• The warehouse is not climate controlled — they have large fans and bottled water, but pay attention to the weather that day. Should’t be too hot in December, but this is Texas…
• Parking is limited — carpooling is encouraged

Trusted World is in great need of new, unopened packages of underwear (all sizes, no thongs). If each person brought just one pack, it would go a long way in helping them serve local families with dignity.
