Continue west on Highway 120 to Pottsboro\, passing through town (staying in the left lane). At the intersection of Highway 120 and Highway 289\, continue on Highway 120 for 5.1 miles. Turn left on Locust Rd (see camp direction sign)\, and travel 1.8 miles to a 4-way stop (Paradise Store on the corner). Turn right on Mill Creek Rd\, and travel 2.1 miles. Camp James Ray’s entrance will be on the right (large stone entranceway). \nCamp details \nDate: September 29\, 2023 – October 1\, 2023 \nCheck-in window: Anytime after 3PM and before 10PM Friday (gates lock after 10) \nCheckout window: 8:30-11:00 AM Sunday \nLocation: Camp James Ray in Pottsboro\, TX  \nCost: $0 \nPack 751 has two campsites\, Lone Eagle and Apache. \nLions/Tigers/Wolves will be at Lone Eagle; \nBears/Webelos/AOL will be at Apache. \nRequired Registration Form:  \n\nPack 751 Fall Campout Registration Form: one per family\n\nRequired forms: Give to Den Leader \n\nMedical Form: one per every camp participant\, including adults\nCommitment to transport: one per scout \nPhoto Release: one per camp participant including adult (optional)\n\nDen Assistance \nWe will have a pack-wide dinner on Saturday\, and to ensure no one is overburdened\, we need volunteers for the following positions:  \n\nCooking\nServing\nClean-up\n\nAdditionally\, we need each den to contribute the following items:  \n\nFirewood for Saturday evening campfire\nSoccer/volleyball/playground ball for field games\nFood for Saturday evening meal:\n\nLions – fruit\nTigers – pancakes and syrup\nWolves – eggs\nBears – sausage and bacon\nWebelos/AoL – graham crackers\, marshmallows\, chocolate bars for s’mores \n\n\n\n\n \nSuggested packing list  \n(https://pack751richardson.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Pack-751-Camping-Rules-and-Checklist_Fire-Safety.docx.pdf) \n\nIn case you’re unsure of what to pack\, this is a good starting point\n\n\nCamping equipment: \n* Cub Scout Essential 6: family first-aid kit; water bottle filled with water; flashlight with batteries; trail food; and sun protection of SPF 30 or higher plus hat with brim; whistle\n* Tent with stakes (in case it is windy)\n* Waterproof ground cloth or plastic tarp for under tent\n* Sleep bag and pillow (cot or thermarest\, if desired)\n* Cup\, bowl\, plate\, and silverware \n \nClothes:\n* Class A formal uniform and Class B t-shirt\n* Poncho or raincoat\n* Warm jacket or coat \n* PJs or sweatshirt and sweatpants\n* Underwear and socks (bring extras!) \n* Durable shoes (hiking shoes if you have them\, if not\, just make sure they have good tread on them) \n* Hat with brim\n* Shirts and shorts/pants. Bring some items to layer in the event your Scout gets cold in the evening/night\n* Swimsuit /clothes and shoes to get wet while canoeing (just in case!)\n \nFamily gear:\n* Camp chairs\n* Cooler\n* Cooking equipment – don’t forget items like Pam to make sure your food doesn’t stick and cooking utensils. \n \nToiletries: \n* Toothpaste\, toothbrush\, and comb\n* Washcloth and towel \n* Soap in container\n* Toilet paper \n* Extra bag for wet/soiled clothes \n \nFirst aid: \n* There will be a first aid kit for the Pack\, but each den and individual should have one as well\n* Reusable water bottle \n* Flashlight with extra batteries\n* Sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher \n* Insect repellent\n* Whistle\n \nExtras: \n* Garbage bags\n* Towels (or paper towels) to clean up around campsite/dry dishes\n* Hand sanitizer \n* Gallons of water (we will have access to water but it’s always best to be prepared)\n* Snacks – we don’t want to get hangry – \n\n\n\nThanks!\n\n—  \nSam Mettauer\nsmettauer@gmail.com\n214.499.7692
