SUMMARY:BALOO and IOLS Training
DESCRIPTION:Adult Training \nBasic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is an overnight training event that introduces parents and leaders to the skills needed to plan and conduct Pack outdoor activities\, particularly Pack camping.  The training includes campsite selection\, outdoor event planning\, parent involvement\, health & safety\, equipment\, cooking\, and an introduction to camping skills. \nAll Packs are required to have a minimum of one (more recommended) for any and all overnight events. \nOnline BALOO Prerequisite Training on my.scouting.org is required prior to attending course. Please bring proof of completion. \n\nBALOO participant: $40 each\nBALOO staff: $15 each\nCheck-in: Friday\, October 10 at 6:00 p.m.\nCheck-out: Saturday\, October 11 at 6:00 p.m.\n\nIntroduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Participants will works as Patrols at this hands-on training. Upon completion\, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. All Troops are required to have IOLS trained leaders and all SM/ASMs are required to have it to be fully trained. \n\nIOLS participant: $40 each\nIOLS staff: $15 each\nCheck-in: Friday\, October 10 at 6:00 p.m.\nCheck-out: Saturday\, October 11 at 6:00 p.m.\n\nIOLS Orientation is required for all participants and will be held online via Teams at 7:00 p.m. (date is not yet finalized). DESCRIPTION:Camp James Ray Trail to Troops #2\n(formerly known as Webelos Woods) \nCamp James Ray \nhttps://scoutingevent.com/571-2025CJRTrailtoTroop2 \nRegistration closes Friday\, October 3 at 11:00 p.m. \nAll registrations must be done through Black Pug and late additions/substitutions or walk-ins are not permitted. \nTrail to Troop is a camping event that introduces Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts (4th and 5th graders) and their families to the Scouts BSA program and helps them prepare to transition to a troop. The weekend features outdoor adventures\, instruction on the patrol method\, and activities run by local Scouts BSA troops\, allowing Scouts to experience Scouts BSA-style activities\, such as BB gun shooting\, archery\, and campfire programs. Parents also attend a Scouting 101 session to learn about the transition\, what to ask troops\, and how to find a suitable troop.
