SUMMARY:BALOO and IOLS Training
DESCRIPTION:Northern Trail along with Rising Sun and Soaring Eagle Districts training team is gearing up to help you get more outing in Scouting! You can take either Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skils (IOLS)\, which is needed for a Scouts BSA leader\, or Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO)\, which is needed by a Cub Scout leader.\nNOTE: Even though both trainings are at the same time and location\, you will have to choose which course you are taking and will only get a training card for the course you sign up for. This is NOT a course designed to give you credit for both course as that would be against Scouting America policy. \nBALOO\nBasic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation \nBALOO is a required training for a Pack to do overnight camping\, designed for registered leaders over 21\, but other adults can attend.  Each Pack must have one BALOO-trained leader; more is better.  In BALOO Course you’ll have fun learning Foil Cooking\, Fun and Cheerful Games\, First Aid\, Geo Chaching\, Camping\, Scouts Own\, Dignified Flag Retirement\, Camp Fire and much more. This Course embodies the spirit of fun\, forging friendships\, building fellowship\, camaraderie\, and expanding your network of resources\, and\, most importantly\, learning how to make Cub Scouting Outdoor activities much more fun! Come join us! \nIOLS\nIntroduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills \nIOLS is required for all direct contact leaders (Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters) in Scouts BSA Troops to be considered a TRAINED LEADER. It is also beneficial to committee chairs and troop members as it provides a better understanding of Scout BSA’s outdoor program. Aside from covering some basic camping and outdoor information\, this training covers an experiential learning of the Patrol method used by Scouts BSA troops. Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters will need to have completed the Scoutmaster Position Specific Training modules and be current for Youth Protection Training to receive a TRAINED patch at the end of the course. These online trainings can be found at my.scouting.org. \nEvent Details \n\nLocation: Camp Wisdom\, 6400 W Red Bird Ln\, Dallas\, TX 75236\nDate: BALOO: Saturday\, September 13th to Sunday\, September 14th.\n\nCheck-in: Saturday\, September 13th – 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.\n\n\nDate: IOLS: Saturday\, September 13th to Sunday\, September 14th.\n\nCheck-in: Saturday\, September 13th – 6:30 a.m. – 7:00 a.m.\n\n\nRegistration Closes: Sunday\, September 5 at 11:00 p.m\nThis is the deadline to add\, update/change registrations\, and complete payment\nCancellation: All cancellations must follow the Circle Ten Council Cancellation & Refund Policy.\n\nCost \nThe cost of the course includes a Friday night cracker barrel\, Saturday breakfast and lunch\, and plenty of snacks to get you through the day. A participant packing list will go out after registration but plan on bringing your own tent\, sleeping gear\, a mess kit\, reusable water bottle\, flashlight/headlight\, sun protection\, rain gear\, a pocket knife\, and personal first aid kit (can be homemade). SUMMARY:Popcorn Sales Storefront Slots available 10am–6pm
DESCRIPTION:Popcorn Sales \nPack 751 Richardson participates in popcorn sales for some great reasons. It’s a major fundraiser that earns money for fun Pack activities\, like Pinewood Derby. \nPopcorn sales are also a great way to teach our boys and girls important life skills. Succeeding takes organization\, time management\, self-confidence\, math\, goal-setting\, and persuasive skills\, to name a few! While it is voluntary\, we encourage each scout to sign up for at least 2 hours of their time during our pre-selected storefront timeslots at local retailers. \n  \nSelling Popcorn Is Fun \nIn 2023\, Pack 751 Richardson popcorn sales kick off in late August and go through October. Scouts can sell popcorn through storefront shifts\, door-to-door wagon sales\, or online. \nTo participate\, create an account at Trail’s End\, our fundraising partner. In Trail’s End\, Scouts and parents can set sales goals\, sign up for storefront shifts\, share links to buy\, track sales and deliveries\, send thank you emails\, and more. \nScouts earn points towards an Amazon or other gift cards when they record their sales in the Trail’s End App. They choose the prize they want and points add up fast. \nWe will have a kick-off discussion at our Pack social on September 19th. \n
